Family Farm Journey Overview

Family Farm Journey follows Felicia across a long run of island maps while she looks for her mother. You clear what’s in the way, dig up what’s hidden, and move on to the next place.

Energy is what all that costs, and it runs out. Century Games hands some back through gift codes, and our Family Farm Journey free energy page covers where those come from and how to type one in.

Newest first. Below that, what the game is, where it actually runs, and how the card album works.

Each card below goes to a Family Farm Journey reward. Codes are typed into the game itself, so have it open.

    What the game is

Century Games describes it as a game of exploration and puzzles, and that's the shape of it. You work through maps, clearing obstacles and turning up treasure as you go.

The studio says there are over a hundred maps, each with its own mysteries and events. So it's a long game, but it's built out of small pieces rather than one big map.

Alongside Felicia you'll meet Ellie, Rickey and Toby. There are mini-games too, which the studio pitches as a break from the exploring rather than the main event.

    Where you play it

This one catches people out, so it's worth saying plainly: Family Farm Journey is a Facebook game. You play it in a browser or inside the Facebook app.

There's no App Store or Google Play version. Searching either store turns up Century's other farm games instead, which is exactly how people end up installing the wrong one.

Worth knowing. The studio's own site shows a store-button graphic that doesn't lead anywhere. Its working link goes to the Facebook version, and that's the one to use.

    How a session goes

    1. Open the map you're on. Each one has obstacles in the way and things hidden behind them.

    2. Spend energy clearing. That's what uncovers treasure and opens the route onward.

    3. Work the map tasks. They're what the game pays you for, so aim at those rather than tidying everything.

    4. Come back later. When energy runs out, that's the session over unless you top it back up.

It suits short visits. There's no farm to keep alive while you're away, so nothing spoils if you leave it a day.

    The card album

Running alongside the maps is a collectable card album, and it's where a lot of the rewards sit.

You pick up cards from events and activities, each with a star rating, and completing sets pays out. Duplicates aren't wasted either, because you can trade them in for stars and turn those into chests.

The social part is the useful bit. You can send or ask a friend for up to five cards a day, and the Friends tab is where you accept swaps or check what's still pending.

Watch the reset. Century Games says the current cards are cleared before the next album starts, so finish what you can before an album closes rather than saving them.

    What energy is for

Nearly everything on a map costs energy, which is why it's the thing players run short of rather than coins.

Century Games lists the ways to get more, and it's a longer list than most games publish: from friends, daily tasks, map tasks, the Props Shop, watching ads, milestone events, and gift codes from its fan page.

The codes are the part worth learning, because they go out on more than one channel. Our free energy page has the redemption steps in the studio's own words.

Not the same as Family Farm Adventure

Century Games runs several games with Family Farm in the name, and it reuses characters across them, so Felicia and Toby turn up in more than one. That makes them easy to mix up.

The clearest difference is where they run. Family Farm Adventure is an app you install from a store, and this one only runs on Facebook. Accounts and rewards do not carry across. Our Family Farm Adventure page is where that game's rewards go.
