Magicabin is a free farm and home design game for iPhone, iPad and Android. You play as Ruby, a young witch, and you grow crops, make potions, fix up a magic farm and travel to strange places to find treasure. It’s made by IVYGAMES, a company in Hong Kong.

Most of what you do costs Energy, and it runs short fast. The studio posts free codes on its Facebook page, and our Magicabin gift codes page shows each one as a card with the date it went up.

The story

Ruby gets a letter from her father. The odd part is that her parents have been missing for years. You help her find out what happened to them, and along the way you learn about her family of wizards and what they did long ago.

You'll meet new friends as you go, including witches and wizards. The store page says there's friendship, romance and a few surprises.

Your magic farm

The farm's your home base. When you start, it's covered with things in the way, so first you clear the land. Then you grow crops and rare plants, pick magic fruit and herbs, and use what you grow to make potions.

You'll also meet fairies and all kinds of magic animals. You can invite them to your farm, and then throw a big party for them.

Trips and treasure

When you're not farming, you can travel with Ruby and her friends. The store pages name a tropical rainforest, an island floating in the sky, an island near the North or South Pole, deep forests, mountains and the beach. You solve small puzzles on these trips.

There's treasure out there, too. You can search an old pirate ship that was lost at sea, look around old relics, and bring what you find back to the farm.

Decorating

You can set up your farm and house any way you want. The game has a do-it-yourself decorating tool, and Google Play says there are thousands of decorations to pick from. You choose where every piece goes.

Energy and spending

Energy's what you spend to clear things and keep moving. It runs low, and players say so a lot in their reviews. In one reply, the studio said it knows the energy needs and the number of ads can be hard. It also said every part of the game can be played for free, and paying only gets you there faster.

The studio's gift codes often pay Gems, and tools like the Magic Hammer and Magic Axe. You can also buy packs, and both stores say the game has ads. If you don't want to spend, you don't have to.

Free gifts from the studio

The studio gives things away in two ways. First, it posts codes on its Facebook page, and each post says what's in it and when it stops working. Second, its website has a daily sign-in. You log in with your Account ID, and what you collect is sent to your character by mail in the game. Our gift codes page explains both.

Who makes it, ratings and prices

The game's sold by IVYMOBILE International Enterprise Limited in Hong Kong, and its name on Google Play is IVYGAMES. Its studio website goes by PhotonFox.

Apple's list of top purchases goes from $0.99 to $19.99. It's all packs and offers, like a $0.99 Pioneer Pack and a $16.99 Warm Winter Pack. You need iOS 15.0 or later, and the download is 940.1 MB. It works with Game Center, so it has leaderboards and achievements. On Google Play, the studio says the game may collect and share your location and personal info, and you can ask for your data to be deleted.
