Monopoly GO is a free dice game for iPhone, iPad, Android and Kindle Fire from Scopely, made with the Monopoly brand under license from Hasbro. You roll dice to move around a Monopoly-style board, collect cash, and spend it on landmarks. Finish every landmark and you move on to a new board. The stores write the name as MONOPOLY GO!
Dice are what you run out of. Scopely posts free dice links on its Facebook page and Discord server, and our Monopoly GO free dice page lists those links with the date on each one.

How the game works
You tap Roll, your token moves, and the tile you land on decides what you get. Property tiles pay rent, Chance tiles give you a random card, and passing GO pays cash. The four corners are GO, Just Visiting, Free Parking and Go to Jail.
Jail isn't all bad. You get three free tries to roll doubles, and those rolls don't use up any dice. Roll doubles and you walk out with bonus dice. Miss all three and you pay bail to leave.
Cash goes into landmarks. Once every landmark on a board is built, you move to the next board on the map, and the cash you earn per tile goes up. So do the landmark prices. Every 10 boards you finish also pays a Pink Sticker Pack.
Dice and multipliers
The game counts dice as Rolls. When you're below your limit, they refill on their own each hour. Scopely's help center gives the current top rate as 40 an hour, with a limit of 400. Both numbers depend on your progress and grow as you finish boards. Finishing a board pays dice too, up to a cap of 200.
The multiplier button next to Roll lets you spend more dice on a single roll, at x2, x5, x10 and higher, and multiplies what you win. It doesn't change where you land. The normal top is x100, and only a High Roller event unlocks x1000. To roll without tapping each time, hold the red Roll button until it turns green.
Shutdowns, Bank Heists and Shields
There's a Railroad on each side of the board, and landing on one can start a minigame against another player.
Shutdown. You visit someone's board and hit one of their landmarks. If a Shield's guarding it, the attack is blocked and may pay less.
Bank Heist. You open vault doors until three treasures match. Coins are a small heist, Bills are a large one, and Rings mean Bankrupt.
Shields. You can hold up to five. They're picked up from Shield tiles, and any extra past five turns into dice.
Other players can do all this to you while you're offline, and Scopely says there's no fixed cap on how much cash a heist can take. Its advice is to spend your cash on landmarks rather than sit on it.
Stickers and albums
Sticker packs come from events, Quick Wins, Daily Treats, the Shop and trades. Each set has nine stickers, and finishing a set or a whole album pays a prize. Gold stickers turn up less often, and you can only trade them during a Golden Blitz event. You can make up to five trades a day.
Duplicate stickers turn into stars, which open vaults with rewards. When an album season ends, up to 700 leftover stars turn into dice. If you want to see the odds for a sticker pack, tap the pack in the in-game store and then the small i button.
Who makes it
Scopely, Inc. makes it. Hasbro owns the Monopoly name, the board design, Mr. Monopoly and the classic tokens, and Scopely uses them with permission. Google Play lists the release date as April 11, 2023, and Scopely announced the launch the next day.
It's still updated often. The App Store shows version 1.79.1 from this month, and Google Play's last update was October 16, 2026.
Not the same as Monopoly Slots
There's another Monopoly game called Monopoly Slots, from a different company. That one's a slot machine game paid in coins, and it has its own Monopoly Slots page here. The two games don't share accounts or rewards, so a dice link only works in Monopoly GO.
Where you can play it
On Apple, you need iOS 15.0 or later on an iPhone or iPad. Android phones and tablets need Android 8.1 or later, and Scopely also supports the Fire HD 8 from 2020 and newer Kindle tablets. The game needs an internet connection, and it isn't designed for a PC or laptop.
It has 4.8 stars from 3.9M ratings on the App Store and 4.6 stars from 3.23M reviews on Google Play, past 100M downloads. Link your account to Facebook, Google Play or your Apple ID so you can get your progress back on a new phone.
Age ratings and prices
Apple rates it 9+, with notes for mild cartoon violence, suggestive themes, loot boxes and advertising. Google Play rates it Everyone. Accounts that belong to young players get fewer features: no chat, no Facebook connection and no Tycoon Club.
| Store | What it shows |
|---|---|
| App Store | Ten items, from $1.99 to $99.99 |
| Google Play | Single items from $0.99 to $199.99 |
The stores don't list what each price buys. Scopely's help center says you can play and move through the boards without paying.
Common questions
Is Monopoly GO free?
Yes. It costs nothing to download on the App Store or Google Play. It sells dice and other items inside the game: Apple lists prices from $1.99 to $99.99, and Google Play says single items run from $0.99 up to $199.99. Scopely says buying is optional.
How do I get free dice in Monopoly GO?
Claim the free gift in the Shop, finish your Daily Treats and Quick Wins, and complete boards and sticker sets. Your dice also refill a little every hour. Scopely posts free dice links on Facebook and Discord, and our free dice page lists them with dates.
Is Monopoly GO the same game as Monopoly Slots?
No. They're two separate apps from two separate companies, and both use the Monopoly name under license from Hasbro. Scopely makes this one, where you roll dice around a board. Your dice, cash and progress don't move between the two games.
Can I play Monopoly GO on a computer?
Not officially. Scopely's help center says the game isn't designed for a PC or laptop. It runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 15.0 or later, Android phones and tablets with Android 8.1 or later, and some Kindle Fire tablets. You need an internet connection to play.
