Tasty Travels Overview

Tasty Travels is a merge game from Century Games. You drag two matching ingredients together and they become one better ingredient. What you make goes to tourists who are waiting on an order, and finishing an order pays you coins. You spend those coins to open up new places to cook in.

The story follows a young woman who wants to be a food vlogger. She travels with her friends and turns up family secrets along the way. The game is free on iPhone, iPad and Android, and Century Games says there are more than 500 ingredients to find. If your energy has run out, our Tasty Travels free energy page keeps the reward links in one place.

    What Tasty Travels is

It is a merge game, so everything starts with two of the same thing. Put two matching items together and you get a single better one. Do that enough times and a sack of raw ingredients turns into a finished dish.

Around that sits a travel story. Tourists ask for dishes, you cook them, and the coins you earn unlock the next place on the map. Century Games describes dozens of famous food cities to work through, each with its own recipes.

    How the merging works

Two identical ingredients make one of the next kind up. That is the whole rule, and the game is built on repeating it. Higher dishes take a lot of small pieces, so most of your time goes on pairing things off.

Orders are what turn that work into progress. A tourist asks for something, you hand it over, and you get paid. Century Games says quests for tourists are how you unlock both new recipes and new destinations, so filling orders is how the story moves.

Making items costs energy, which is why the reward links matter. When your energy is gone you cannot put anything new on the board, and the game goes quiet until it comes back.

    What the game costs

Nothing to download and nothing to start. Tasty Travels is free on both stores, and you can play it without spending.

There are things to buy once you are in. Google Play labels the game In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items), and Apple flags it for Loot Boxes. Those are two ways of saying the same thing: some of what you can buy gives you a random result rather than the exact item you picked. Worth knowing before you hand a phone to a child.

Is it right for your family

The two stores do not agree on this game, and the gap is wide enough to matter. Apple rates it higher than Google does, and each one flags something the other leaves out.

Apple is the stricter of the two here. If you are deciding for a younger child, the 9+ rating and the loot box flag are the ones to read, because they cover the part of the game that costs money.

    Common questions

Is Tasty Travels free to play?

Yes. It is free on the App Store and on Google Play. There are optional purchases inside the game, and both stores note that some of them give you a random item rather than one you choose.

    Who makes Tasty Travels?

Century Games Pte. Ltd. The App Store listing and the developer's own site both credit the same studio, and the game has passed 10 million downloads on Google Play.

Does Tasty Travels have promo codes?

No. There is no box in the game for typing a code. What Century Games hands out instead are reward links, and tapping one on your phone opens the game and adds the reward.

What do I do when I run out of energy?

You can wait for it to come back, or use a reward link. Our free energy page lists the ones Century Games has posted, with the newest first.
