How to Send Chips to Friends in WSOP

Helping out a friend who’s run low on chips is one of the more social features in WSOP. The chip gifting system lets you send some of your stack to another player. Here’s how it works and what the limits are.

Can You Send Chips to Anyone?

In WSOP, chip gifting is generally limited to players on your Poker Buddies list. You can’t just send chips to a random player you’ve never added. This is by design, it prevents abuse of the gifting system. So if you want to send chips to someone, make sure they’re on your Buddies list first.

Step 1: Go to Your Buddies List

Open the main menu in WSOP and navigate to your Poker Buddies or Friends section. Find the player you want to send chips to and tap their name or avatar to open their profile.

Step 2: Find the Gift Chips Option

On the player’s profile page, look for a Send Chips, Gift Chips, or similar button. Tap it to open the gifting interface. If you don’t see this option, it could mean the player hasn’t been added as a buddy long enough, or there may be a level requirement for the gifting feature to unlock.

Step 3: Enter the Amount

The gift chips screen will let you select or enter the amount you want to send. WSOP typically has a set of preset amounts you can choose from, and sometimes a custom amount option. Keep in mind that there are daily or periodic limits on how many chips you can gift, both per transaction and in total across a day.

Step 4: Confirm and Send

Review the amount, confirm the recipient is correct, and tap Send or Confirm. The chips will be deducted from your balance and credited to your friend’s account. They should receive a notification that you’ve sent them chips.

Gifting Limits

WSOP places limits on chip gifting to prevent exploitation of the system. There’s usually a daily cap on how many chips you can send to a single player and a cap on total gifting per day across all recipients. If you hit the limit, you’ll need to wait until the limit resets (usually the next day) before sending more.

Receiving Chips From Friends

If a friend sends you chips, you’ll get an in-app notification. The chips go directly into your balance. You can also send a thank-you gift back using the same system. Some players keep a regular chips exchange going with close friends to help each other stay stocked up.

Chips Gifting vs. Chip Requests

WSOP also has a feature for requesting chips from friends, which is separate from gifting. If you need chips, you can send a request to your Buddies and they can choose to send you some. It’s less direct than gifting but useful if you’d rather not initiate the transaction from your end.

Chip gifting is one of those features that makes WSOP feel more social. When a friend is on a losing streak and running low, a small gift can keep the session going for both of you.
