During the Powerhand Jackpot event all tables on featured stakes grow a jackpot that players can win with powerhands.
Refer to the paytable displayed on these tables for the payout on powerhands.
Note that the jackpot will be added to your total bankroll, not your stack at the table.
How Powerhand Jackpot Works
Powerhand Jackpot is a game mode in WSOP that rewards players for making strong poker hands. During gameplay, certain hands qualify for jackpot payouts on top of whatever you win from the regular pot.
The jackpot builds over time as players contribute through their regular play. When someone hits a qualifying hand, they take home a share of the accumulated jackpot. The stronger the hand, the bigger the payout.
Qualifying Hands
While the exact thresholds can change with game updates, jackpot hands typically include:
- Straight Flush – One of the rarest hands in poker and usually triggers a significant jackpot payout.
- Four of a Kind (Quads) – Landing quads during a Powerhand Jackpot session awards a solid chunk of the pool.
- Full House – Depending on the current jackpot tier, a full house may qualify for a smaller share.
Tips for Powerhand Jackpot
You do not need to change your strategy dramatically for this mode. Just play solid poker and the jackpot hands will come naturally over time. The key is volume since the more hands you play, the better your chances of landing a qualifying hand.
One thing to keep in mind is that both your hole cards usually need to play for the hand to count toward the jackpot. If the board shows four cards to a straight flush but you are only using one hole card, it might not qualify. Check the in-game rules for the current requirements.
Powerhand Jackpot is one of several special game modes in WSOP alongside Texas Roulette, Crown Holdem, and regular Hold’em tables. Each mode has its own pacing and reward structure.
