Texas Roulette

Texas Roulette is a new type of cash game* in WSOP that is available periodically.

Rules:

Call the big blind to see the flop, or fold your hand.
Once the flop comes out, you only have two choices: All-In or Fold
Auto Rebuy and Auto Top Off are always on.

How Texas Roulette Works

Texas Roulette is a cash game variant in the WSOP app that strips poker down to its most exciting moments. The rules are simple but the swings are big.

Before the flop, you can only limp in or fold. There is no raising allowed pre-flop, which means players enter hands with all kinds of holdings. Once the flop is dealt, it becomes a push-or-fold game: go all-in or get out. That is it. No small bets, no tricky river bluffs.

Auto top-up and auto rebuy are permanently on, so everyone at the table always has a full stack. This keeps the action fast and the pots massive.

Available Stakes

  • Play Hard – 250,000 chip buy-in with blinds of 12,500/25,000. Good for players who want the Texas Roulette experience without risking a huge portion of their bankroll.
  • Play Harder – 2,500,000 chip buy-in with blinds of 125,000/250,000. For experienced players with deep chip stacks who enjoy high-variance poker.

Strategy Tips

Since everyone limps pre-flop, you will see a lot of multiway pots. Position matters more than usual here because you get to see what others do before committing your stack.

Strong top-pair hands and overpairs are usually worth shoving on the flop. Drawing hands are trickier since you do not get to see the turn and river cheaply. If the flop gives you a big draw (like a flush draw with overcards), you are usually getting the right price to push since the pot is already inflated from all the limpers.

The biggest mistake in Texas Roulette is folding too much on the flop. Because pre-flop ranges are so wide, top pair with a decent kicker is often good enough to get your chips in.
